For example, The Cascades combines numerous beautifully designed residence options and the security of health care services in one convenient location. From an independent lifestyle to assisted-living support and skilled nursing, we ensure you receive consistent, individualized care without having to relocate.

Who owns The Cascades at Verdae?

Banyan Senior Living, an industry leader for more than 20 years, was selected by Verdae Development to own, develop and manage The Cascades. Known for its excellence in managing retirement communities, Banyan Senior Living offers superb service to its community residents. Conveniently headquartered in Greenville, the company has served more than 36 independent and assisted living communities throughout the Southeast.

What types of residences are offered at The Cascades?

To help you maintain the lifestyle you’re accustomed to, we offer multiple residence options. You can choose from charming two- and three-bedroom cottage homes or spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes.

Cottage Homes

Cottage homes range from 1639 to 2536 square feet. Each home features a full kitchen, laundry area with washer and dryer, spacious living and formal dining rooms, sunroom, two-car garage with golf cart parking, and master suite with a spa bath. A variety of plans with numerous elevation choices are offered so that you may further personalize your home to suit your tastes.

Apartment Homes

Apartment homes range from 979 to 3210 square feet. Choose your home from multiple floor plans featuring a full kitchen, laundry area with washer and dryer, dining and living rooms, and spacious master bedroom suite including balconies, patios, and highly desirable corner plans. For greater convenience, enclosed walkways leading to the Clubhouse provide easy, comfortable passage during inclement weather to dining and amenity areas.

How do I sell my residence?

If you leave The Cascades for any reason, Banyan Senior Living will manage the sale of your cottage or apartment home, and 90% of the net resale proceeds of your home will be reimbursed to you or designated person(s) upon its resale.

What fees can I expect at The Cascades?

Like most luxury retirement communities, The Cascades requires a membership fee, starting from the low $200,000s for apartment homes and mid $400,000s for cottages depending on the type of residence and features you select. In addition, residents pay a monthly service fee which covers access to all amenities, including wellness and activity programs, monthly meal allowances in a variety of dining venues, weekly laundry and housekeeping, building and lawn maintenance, all utilities, taxes, and insurance, and scheduled transportation. A portion of this monthly fee may also be tax-deductible.

What on-site activities are available?

At The Cascades, there are literally more activities available than hours in the day. As a resident, you may choose to participate in daily recreational and educational activities, arts and crafts, cards and billiards, cinema, gardening in the greenhouse, ballroom dancing and more. Just outside The Cascades, you can also enjoy golf, tennis, museums, shopping, and sightseeing.

What is available in the fitness program?

To encourage a healthy lifestyle, the fitness center and spa will include a fully equipped weight room, exercise classes, personal training programs, massage therapy, and an indoor pool. Plus, the mild year-round temperatures in Greenville encourage outdoor activities such as walking, running, biking, and croquet on our Great Lawn.

Is health care provided on-site?

Preventive health care and wellness programs, provided by a highly skilled staff, are included in your monthly service fee. Residents who require specialized assistance will have priority access to the on-site Health Service Center, which will be licensed for 48 assisted living, 24 memory care and 44 skilled nursing private suites in state-of-the-art neighborhood-designed residences. For emergency care, there are two full-service hospitals and a growing choice of fine physician practices nearby.

When will the cascades be open for residency?

With groundbreaking currently underway, The Cascades will welcome its first residents in the fall of 2008. Charter Club members will receive periodic updates on our progress and invitations to special events hosted by Banyan Senior Living.
